I have another padded envelope of random cards that I'd like to giveaway to one of my fellow Benchies, but I have 2 simple steps that must be met to be eligible for the contest. If no winner by Sunday night, then closest pick will be winner. In case of a tie, I will flip a coin.

1. Pick a number 1 to 50

2. What was the one card you traded/sold way too early and kicked yourself later? (Mine was a 2009-10 Certified Steph Curry jsy/auto. Only booked at $40 and I traded it away in 2013. Now it's a $400 card and maybe more when the new beckett comes out.).

The cards will be a mix of commons, stars, rookies, a few inserts and a 2012 Bowman Sterling Rookie Autograph.

Thanks,
Billy

i'll go with 36 this time around....

and for me , it would be a close call between a tom brady bowman chrome rookie and a 2004 classics sideline generals bill walsh/bill belichick dual auto which i should have held 10 more months....

I'll take 17,

I sold this cards for $20.00 - 2000 Royal Rookies Futures Autographs #6 Miguel Cabrera - last I knew it booked at $120.00.

43 please and I would have to say never really sold but traded a lot of my vintage 54-66 for canseco bo Jackson and mike Messina rookies I remember a few hammerin hank and Clemente etc

#19

When I was a junior in high school my father bought some cards from a guy he worked with. It turned out they were 1953 Bowman Colors. And one of the cards was a Mantle. I sold the card at a show for 1000.00. You will never know how much fun I had with that grand but I wish I had that card back.

#4 Mine was the 1992 Bowman Mariano Rivera RC. Sold it at a show when it booked at only $10. The only upside is that I got it in a pack purchased for $3 and back then you could get full book value when selling cards as a dealer back then.

Thanks for the contest - #44.

Don't have any sellers regret at this point - may happen this week though. Putting a ToppsNow Golden Ticket up for sale, if it turns into a 1/1 of someone like Bryant/Trout or a yet unknown rookie, may regret it.

Hmmm, #8 please!

I traded a Larry Bird ttm for Illini QB Nathan Scheelhaase.....if it was real, lopsided trade! Brock for Broglio! Big Scheelhaase fan, having seen him play many times as alums: my wife and I met, got engaged and got married after we graduated from Illinois, so its all good!!

Numbers picked so far: 4, 8, 11, 17, 19, 26, 36, 43, 44, 46

No winner yet, so keep the guesses coming.

Some great stories, or should I say, not so great stories from you all.

Thanks,
Billy

#25, and my regret was a small Michael Jordan lot; 1996-97 Z Force Big Men on Court, 1997-98 Hopps Frequent Flyer Upgrade, and a 1997-98 Z-Force Rave. Sold them all for $100 and I think now they book collectively for over $1000. Still mad about that one.

Thanks for the contest.

going with #42

biggest mistake??? tie between 2 cards

1) pulled a joe Namath auto out of 1992 all world football pack, tho I sold for $80, you just don't pull joe Namath out of a pack anymore do you???

2) much bigger mistake, pulled a 2000 pacific paramount tom brady rc holo blue. sat at $350 for the longest time. tried to trade at a few shows thru the mid 2000's and no takers. so put it on ebay thru sister-in-law and only got $80 out of it. not sure what base is now or ever what the holo blue multiplier is now as it is not listed in paper football beckett. SMH to this day.

Thanks for the contest and great stories, I'll try 33.

I had some 1990 Leaf Sammy Sosa RC's, sold them for $5 each about 3-4 weeks before they started really taking off, today it doesn't look so bad, but it sure hurt then.

I'll save the regret of what I didn't buy for another contest...

1. 13
2. 2006 Bowman Chrome Draft Clayton Kershaa AU. Sold it in a lot for $43 shortly after pulling. I was 16, no job, and made back nearly the cost of the whole box on one card, so why wouldn't I do it? Now a $500+ seller.

Another one...pulled a 2013 Bowman Draft AFLAC Kris Bryant AU in the first pack of my case split with another member. Who knew that selling it for $400 and more than paying for my share of the case would come to look bad? Seen sales in the $1200 range recently...

I'll go with 15.

Back in the 1970s and early 80s it was easy to pick up old cards as the hobby was in its infancy and very few people collected and price guides were nearly non existent. One of the easiest old cards to get was Nolan Ryan's RC as It was a low # card and I had 12-15 of them. My brother and I set up during HOF induction in Cooperstown in the mid 80s and we sold them for a song (probably $10-$20 each. At that time Ryan was a star but his RC was in no where near demand as other more scare RCs like Seaver, Rose etc so it was considered a good but not great card at the time.

My biggest mistake on passing on something was turning down 50 sets of 1986-87 Fleer Basketball cards with the sticker set at $5 a set!! My brother told me that football cards were never going to amount to anything and basketball cards were even worse. So I bought 1 set and left the other 49 sets sitting there. Hey, at least I got my set for $5.00 but what could have been!!

#6

I pulled a 2000 Topps Tony Gwynn Autograph - which at the time booked like $150-$200 - and I traded it down for a whole bunch of $5-$10 BV PC cards. Not a big loss, but it would've been nice to trade it for another nice card!
