I was just organizing some vintage hockey cards I just picked up over a week ago and came across an interesting back to the 1974 Topps 244 Hart Trophy...
"The original Hart Trophy was donated in 1923 in memory of Cecil Hart, former manager and coach of the Montreal Canadiens. It goes each year to the NHL's most valuable player, and is perhaps the most coveted of the league's individual awards. The winner also receives a check for $1,500." (my italics)
I know inflation has been great in 40 years but wow $1,500 for being the league MVP?
