So, my son started working on this set approximately 13 years ago when he was 14 years old. We would go to shows together and he would pick up 1-2 cards to add to the set. He has since gotten married, moved to a different city, and stopped card collecting due to life priorities. Completion of this set is one of those lifetime collecting goals that I would like to help him accomplish.

I am looking for decently centered cards with nice edges / corners and good color. I have a some extra 1954 Topps available and a lot of modern RC available to trade including Ohtani, Acuna, Soto, Betts, Bellinger, Trout, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

PLMK condition on these. I'm looking for EXMT or better with sharp corners and no print marks, indentations, markings, dings, or diamond cuts. Centering 70/30 or better on front and back.

#189 | Bob Ross

I have these extras in what I'd call EX to EXMT condition

I have about 20 cards from your list, including Lasorda & Rizzuto, although they might not be up to grade. I can send pictures by email of a few if you are interested.

I am interested in seeing them. Please let me know if there are noticeable issues that do not show up in the pics and, also, what you are looking for in return.

Hi,
I have 48 1954s I'd be willing to trade (haven't compared to your list yet). Before I look through, do you happen to have any 56 or 57 Topps in EX or better to trade? I'm working on those sets. If not, I might be willing to take some modern rookies or Braves for my boys (although I hesitate to trade my vintage for their modern ha!)

Just went through your list and I have 25 that you need.

Thank you for the post. Unfortunately, I do not have any '56 or '57 Topps for trade. I have a lot of modern rookie cards and modern Braves RC, autos, parallels, etc. Please send me a list of what players you are interested in and I can put together a nice trade list.

Since I am helping my son put together this set for his collection, I will pass along the card condition that he is looking for:
1. EXMT or better
2. Minimum card centering of 60/40 on front
3. Vibrant color

I do not know values on any of the vintage cards so any help there would be greatly appreciated. I will be on vacation from September 1-8 so I will be away from the boards during that time.

Thanks,
David

David,
Your desired condition knocked most out, at least from my eye. I've attached a scan of 6 of the best to see if you think they meet your criteria. If you think they exceed what would work for you, I may have some more for you. Several of the ones I kicked out were for slightly rounded corner/s or a small ding. Centering and surface is pretty universal, IMHO, but corners can be what makes one collector's EXMT another collector's VGEX.

Once we get a lot, I can give you an estimate of trade value. I've been buying/selling a good number of vintage commons recently, so have a pretty good sense of the current market. Like you on vintage, I'm not the greatest on modern value.

In terms of trade candidates, I would just throw out the blanket "cool auto/s or numbered parallel/s" of current Braves. These would be for my boys. They like sparkle/xfractor kind of stuff. Also my high school pitcher is obsessed with Triston McKenzie if you happen to have anything cool of him. Hope that helps at least a little. As a backup I PC Ozzie Smith and Chipper.

Let me know what you think of the attached an we can go from there.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
All but the Paul Smith look good. My son noted that the right edge of the Smith appears to have a gouge. I would be interested in any other extras that you have that are comparable to these five.

I am putting together a list of Braves goodies as well as some Triston McKenzie colored refractors. I should have this ready by tomorrow.

Thanks,
David
