Finally got the base sorted on this -- needs are listed in the initial post.

Thoughts on my 2 hobby boxes - collation was pretty good, would have come pretty close to two full sets, if not for damaged cards. Whomever has been working quality control for Topps the past 3 or 4 years has been asleep at the wheel. Out of two boxes, 53 cards were damaged (almost 4 full packs worth), ranging from destroyed corners to divots in the card to streaked/roller marks on the gloss. Another new one this year was a handful of cards looked completely washed out in their printing, almost like one of the ink colors was running low on press.

With all that said, if you are trading base to me, please check them carefully to make sure they are not damaged. I had multiple trades for series I where I had to toss cards in the junk pile. If I get bad cards this go round, I will mark accordingly in the feedback portion of trade completion. Hold the cards up to the light and move them around, that is where the imperfections show up. Took me 3 to 4 times the normal amount of time to sort, trying not to let any damaged cards get past.
