First off, 2 Hobby boxes and 2 Blaster boxes were ordered direct, they shipped the blasters and listed the hobby as shipped, but they were missing. They corrected the problem and shipped the hobby boxes a day after I called in the problem. Anyone else have issues with their shipments this year?
These boxes resulted in 16 cards short for the first set and only half of a second set. This is due to the shady change that Fanatics did with the reduction in packs and cards per pack in the hobby boxes. No announcement about the reduction in product, but they kept that price the same.
They claim that the reduction results in better odds for a couple of numbered cards per box. That to me is just gaslighting. They can pound sand with that reasoning. I remember when you got inserts and numbered cards in every pack. And the value of the current numbered cards is bogus, they aren't worth anything on the secondary market. And don't even start with their spectacular collating process.
I believe that these are going to be the last boxes that I open directly from Fanatics. It is probably well past time for me to start working backwards on my vintage sets. Looks like my run of Topps sets ends at 53 years. Too bad Fanatics/Topps, you really screwed up this time.
Am I alone in my thinking? I haven't seen very many trade posts for 2023 Topps Update, so I am thinking that there were not many boxes opened.
Here are the 16 cards that I need for my first set. Too many to list for a second set. I know about the double printing of #149 and no card #250.
2023 Topps Update #50, 192, 195, 244, 274

And since there are so few cards in these boxes, I actually will list all of my extras available for trade. Usually I have a box full so I don't list numbers, but this year is so light, here are my extras for trade.
2023 Topps Update extras for trade: #8, 19, 22, 36, 37, 42, 49, 52, 53, 54, 79, 92, 96, 106, 124, 125, 130, 134, 135, 138, 186, 188, 204, 224, 226, 227, 264, 265, 281, 284, 293, 302, 303, 306, 318, 322, 327
Are there any Update set builders this year or am I working on a dog set?
Thanks,
