Hey - I quickly went through your list. I have had TTM success with all the above. PM if you need any help with addresses. The lone exception is Omar Moreno. That's a story within intself. I don't have his autograph -- yet.

Good luck on putting that set together. I'll keep an eye out for you. You're probably going to have a hard time finding that Clemente TBTC.

Unless it's a forgery, that's not actually going to be possible...:(

BTW, mort, what's this story about Moreno? I actually need him for my Pirates collection...(or is this a story that I dont want to hear, lol)

Oh, and double BTW, tbrommel, I sent you a PM. :)

LOL, I just grabbed a checklist from some website and deleted the ones I had. Didn't think to just remove that one from the list. Anyone reading the list probably thinks I'm an idiot...:D

Thanks for the input - I've got requests out to about 90 percent of those guys but they've been some long waits. Others, like Valenzuela, I've got one card of and just need the other.

I've got the 07 Harvey so addresses shouldn't be a problem, though I've had a couple RTS from it - Dan Schatzeder comes to mind.

26W020 Klein Creek Drive Winfield, IL 60190 (but I got that one in Nov. 06) It took 144 days.

I suppose you could tape a 'cut' autograph to the card.... :D

As for Moreno...In April 07 I dug up his charitable foundation and sent an e-mail offering to make a $donation$ for an autograph on my 1983 Fleer. I received a very prompt response from the "International Public Relations Director" (his daughter, Leury) with specific instructions to send a Western Union money order to a specific address.

I sent the money order on May 16 and I sent Leury letting her know the check is in the mail ($12). I sent follow-ups on June 13, August 14, and October 20. No response.

After I sent the e-mail on the 20th, I was getting a bit annoyed. A quote from my e-mail: "I am disappointed I have not received a response regarding my donation to your father's foundation. It is discouraging that an opportunity to donate money to a charitable cause disappears."

So I put my Cyber-sleuthing hat on and I dug up Leury's MySpace page. There I found her Yahoo e-mail address and I sent the same e-mail there. Lo and behold the next day there was an e-mail in my IN box from the International Public Relations Director herself!!

Her reply mentions something about some sort of Gala in January when she will see him next. She is quite curt, even offers to send back the $12 and the card. I promptly reply and advise her to keep the donation and I will gladly wait until January (while thinking to myself she should've told me this in May -- which wouldn't have mattered to me). I ask a couple of follow-up questions. But I haven't heard back since.....

Until today I've been tempted (but resisted) the urge to publicize this. As a kid, I loved Omar Moreno (his name alone is GREAT!). It stinks that I've had to deal with this.

What would you put the odds of getting the card back? Better yet, what are the odds I'll get the 1983 Fleer card back signed? I'm not really sure what to expect. If I don't get a response by February, I'm going to start my e-mails to Leury.

Stay tuned...

(Sorry, Todd, for making this post completely off-topic....:) )

Actually, a guy on Freedom Cardboard makes cut cards. I've seen him do one for the 1987 Topps set for a manager that died months after the set released and is virtually impossible to find. It's high quality stuff. Now you'd just need a Clemente auto :D :D :D

Thanks, Mort. You know, I'm 0-for-3 on Hearn for some reason...He is one of three guys who seems to be a great signer I just can't get a return from:

Ed Hearn
Jimmy Key
Jeff Reardon (Very frustrating since he's in the traded set as well)

I've also updated the list with my needs from the Traded set for those checking or offering help. Unfortunately not as many people collect the traded set.

Andy Van Slyke

You can try him c/o Tigers. He may sign over ST

LOL - Van Slyke has a 2% success rate on SCN and that one was from 2000.

I've been doing this TTM thing for a while and know where to look for guys. There are a few good signers left on my list and a lot of guys who charge fees but the majority are players who do not sign TTM at all or are horrible signers TTM.

I'm always looking to knock off guys via trade, 50/50, in-person signings, etc. because the TTM successes are now few and far between.

As for Moreno, Mort never got his card signed. ;-)

Ha ha ha ... Todd is correct. I figured I got my final jab in when I called out Leury in the interview on Yahoo! Sports. I guess now I'll attempt another mean in getting the 'graph (see Todd's methods above :) ).
