I am not disputing his prices because he has some scarce oddball stuff, but let's just say that seller is very proud of his prices and I am guessing on some occasions they are flipping items they won on ebay for a handsome profit (if they get their price). This seller has foiled my bid attempts on numerous occasions for oddball items, but the one that stings the most is the 1972 Laughlin Stand-up Gil Hodges (he has or had in the past two of them listed. Have not looked in a while.

Dave Winfield's first major league issue:

and the second year of that set:

I would LOVE to have them, but just can't justify the cost.

Funny this topic comes up. Spotted this guy a few months back. Seller ignored my offer for a little less without even a response.

A few years ago this card "sold" several times over the course of about 2-3 months. The price dropped each time it showed back up so soon, but the final price was still $350-400 (after starting out above $500!!!). The same seller listed and sold it twice to two different buyers and another seller ID sold it once, who was not a winner of a previous transaction (unless we are talking multiple IDs, single user). I am still not 100% convinced this card never changed hands and that it was a shill effort.

Anyway, partly the history, partly the market, but I can't bring myself to drop $200, even though this is one of the nicer 1/1 Garvey's made. A year ago, I probably would have snapped it up w/o hesitation...now I'd like to pay no more than $150 delivered for it, less if possible!

Heres my dream card....1993 finest refractor of Frank Thomas PSA 10!

Do you have a raw one?

Nope! Tried getting one on eBay.....from someone with ID starting with Dr...The picture looked great and when I got the card......you guessed it....did not match the picture!! Contacted the seller and mailed the card back to him...for a full refund... I'll probably try to land a PSA 9 sometime in the near future...Best regards, David

You're probably right. That's the same photo for the 1973 set from the last time it was on eBay, when I lost it because I wasn't around to bid and the set only went for about $30. Silly me didn't think anyone would be looking, and only bid $27.

That's a pretty cool Babe Ruth card, I've never seen that before. And yea, everyone has a white whale that they can never reach because of money issue or rarity issue.

The babe ruth card and coin...is about 30% off....There's another one with a bin for $100.00. If I was a babe ruth collector....click! Best regards, David

Nice cards all around. Here is one I'd love to add:

Nolan Ryan

Wouldn't even necessarily want a graded one. Would also love to add a Venezuela issue, but there wasn't one on ebay to link to!
