Hello All,
I'm sure i'm not alone with this but I have to ask. I have amassed tons of base cards in all four major sports through the years of collecting cards, ripping packs looking for those overrated "hits" only to disregard the so called commons.

My two sons want nothing to do with them, and I've been guilty of throwing them in the garbage just to alleviate my mess, but I feel I could do something better with them. I'm open for suggestions.

In a perfect world I would like to receive some kind of monetary return from my "investments", heck I would take .10 on every card I have. but it's not that easy.

I'm thinking a donation to the pediatric ward at a hospital might be a good place, but then again is it ? I could cause a hell of a mess for the staffers.

PLEASE HELP...

You could always try selling the base lots on e-bay. Pick a particular year and have the auction as, pick 10 cards from the following list of cards for .99. You might make a little money back.

I have a huge problem like this as well...but at the same time I also need a ton of commons to help my collection because I like to have 3 cards of every player in my collection

I'm sure it would take some time, but if you make a list of them, there are many traders looking for low end set needs here. If you have anything from my wantlist in my sig, I'd be happy to trade.

You could donate them to your local Hospital or use them for Hollween instead of candy treats....baseball card treats! Best regards, David

Call your local hospital first to see if they are interested in them. Our local hospital has a closet filled with boxes of donated cards and will no longer take them. As for Holloween, a few years ago are church had a party for the kids and gave each one a grab bag. We got 150 25 count plastic boxes and filled them with star cards with a GU or auto in one. The clean up crew said they found about 90% of them in the trash.
Your best bet may be a youth group but call them first.

In our neck of the woods......They (youth group) no longer accept cards because nobody likes common players and most end up in the trash can! Best regards, David

Trade them to set builders or they go in the trash. Not many places accept cards anymore. Salvation Army, by me, won't accept them either.

Lots of people here will take them off your hands for the cost of shipping + a little extra in flat rate boxes.

like many already stated, if ya can try donating them (if possible) - it can be used as a charitable donation when ya file your taxes (must get signed receipt w/ value ".10 each" x how ever many) - - - I donated mine to my local Special Olympics baseball team, each player got a blaster box full of cards from all sports; I just made sure to put some Yankees and Mets cards on the top of each box - they were thrilled!! I didnt bother claimimg them however - good luck, erik

I would also recommened you could go to the goodwill. It is a nice tax write off at the end of the year. Or a Boys club they will also get a lot out of it.

I never knew you could use that as a tax write off...I say you do that, or trade them to the people on here looking for some...i know I have a huge need list if you'd like to check it out

I would glue them into forts and the position little plastic green army men around them and then stage an assault with the army men and burn the enemy's fort down

I once knew a fella that cemented them on the wall of his son's bedroom wallpaper style, it was quite a sight at first glance.
