I was with a friend of mine today and we started talking about buying cards in the 80's and 90's. How alot of people were buying as an investment and wondering how many people were still sitting on alot of "Junk Wax".

It got me curious about what all might be sitting around in the homes of my fellow Benchies. If you are sitting on some, post it up! Who knows? Someone may read this thread and want it! It doesn't have to be wax. It could be Cellos, Racks, Jumbos etc...

Should be an interesting thread!

Thanks
Craig

*I have nothing by the way. I enjoy opening to much!

off the top of my head... 4 boxes left from a 10 box case 1990 Donruss Error, 4 boxes 1989 Donruss, 2 boxes 1988 Fleer, 1 box 1986 Topps, 1 box 1985 Topps with the undated wrappers, 1 box 1993 OPC, and then a handful of 1988 and 1989 Topps Rack packs with stars on front or back.

Boxes of 88 and 89 Topps Wax, 89 Donruss Boxes, 89, 90, 91 Pro Set Football

In the crawlspace at my parent's house lies a case of 1991 UD football. My grandpa bought a case of baseball when we were kids and then swapped it with a buddy for football. Somehow it ended up at our house. Either way, it isn't worth much now. Only thing in there is Favre's rookie, I think.

Hi
I know have some stuff buried in a cabnit in the garage that is now block by my daughter's crap when she moved back home...off the topp of my head...I know I have a 1991 and 1992 Leaf, 1991 and 1992 Score, 1999 and 1999 UD, some Fleer and Donruss boxes a 1992 Stadium Club Series 2 and a 1991 Skybox hoops. Topps Traded boxes, some factory sets and hand colated sets.
About 50 or so rack packs of Topps and Donruss and Fleer...I believe I still have a 1990 Cello with Junior on the back.

How can you tell the difference in the 1990 Donruss Cases?

Thanks

Very ironic timing for this post! I just consolidated a bunch of junk unopened down my basement...TODAY! I was wondering if anyone would want any of this stuff, even with HOF on the top of cellos, racks, etc. Anyway, I have a bunch of:

88 Donruss, 89 Donruss, 90 Donruss, 90 Fleer, 87 Topps, 89 Topps, 88 Score, 89 Score.

Oh well!

Chris

I have unopened Topps baseball boxes from 1986 to the present (one for every year and for each series when they split into I/II). I also have a minimum of 3 unopened packs for each year from 1973 to 1985. Also have a low series 1972 wax pack and a 1969 wax pack, my goal is/was to have 3 packs for each year. One for both my son and I to open when he is old enough and one remaining to keep in the archives.

I also have stadium club boxes from 92 - 94, UD 93, and I believe some 92 & 93 Donruss hiding around here somewhere.

Short of dropping off the junk packs at Goodwill or giving them away, does anyone have any good ideas of what to do with these junk packs?

Does anyone have a favorite junk set that they want to start a 7th or 8th set? I always kinda liked the 88 Fleer...

Great thread.

If we can work out some sort of trade, I'd gladly take them. I teach 3rd grade (all boys single gender class), and I use older packs of cards as rewards/incentives. Hit me up via PM if interested.

Sure Tim. I wouldn't be asking for much, that's for sure. Do you care what brand? Anyway, what are you thinking?

I'd bust it. Send in the better Favre rookies to be graded. When you say crawlspace, do you mean the area underneath their house??

I have a box of CMC minor leauge from 1990, back then I thought for sure it would bring me $ in the future with cant miss stars like Dave Justice, Kevin Maas, Jose Offerman & Juan Gonzalez..just to name a few....well 21 years later...still worth the same it was then :(

Chris - Do you have full boxes or just loose packs? If you have full boxes post what you have with prices. Someone might snatch them up if the price is right!

Thanks
