Beckett and SCD identify these as "1960-61 Fritos Ticket Folders". I stumbled upon them on Ebay a few weeks back doing a seldom performed "dodger" search, but unfortunately for the seller (and fortunately for me), they didn't use player names in the title or description. I ended up with 6 of these rare items for $14.11 TOTAL, DELIVERED! they are not perfect, with mild creasing/bends on some and staining on the Moon (it was snack chips, after all). Sadly the Hodges is the worse, with considerable creasing, but it still displays nicely. I can't stress enough that spending the time to list something properly will help avoid an ending like this (for a seller). I always say the good stuff will sell for a fair price...well I meant it if the seller takes the time to properly list it.

Complete description "Fritos Free Game Tickets Given Out with Fritos Bags in the 1960's ......................... EX-Mint"

Complete title "Fritos Free Dodger Tickets given out with Bags of Frito"

4 Larry Sherry (2 different color variations on back) - Not listed in the guide (Frank Howard is the "common" at $90.00 HBV)
1 Wally Moon $150.00 HBV
1 Gil Hodges $200.00 HBV

Those are great, and what a great find :)

I noticed the Sherry folders have different slogans on them and those correspond to the different back colors. I have 3 of one type and 1 of the other. Also, the insides differ slightly between the 2! They all appear to be the same issue and year. Not sure why 2 different Sherrys?

Just a note...if the seller was smart enough to take the time to list it correctly, he would have priced it accordingly as well (or your "steal" would/could've ended up as a "close, but one that got away" story). Just be glad they didn't spend the time/energy to do so! In the end, no matter what is said about ebay, it IS the resource for all your collecting needs. Congrats on the pickup - it's a tremendous find!

I agree. It is a shame for the seller that he/she didn't get more action, but I am not complaining. I loaded a very fair snipe bid in and didn't come anywhere near it in the end. I bid fairly and got a great deal. I feel a little sorry for the seller, but as you noted, they had the chance to write any description they wanted and this could have been a story not worthy of mention except as the one that got away. I am shocked that the names of the players didn't even get mention in the description. Had that happened, it is likely these would have sold for much more. Huge score for me.
