question about collecting every card from a certain player

I'm thinking of collecting a couple players and want to find a checklist or something like it that shows every card made for those player(s). Is there a site that has this info for me to become a "super collector"?

Check into the Inventory Manager over at SportsCardForum.com, for some players, it's a lot more comprehensive than Beckett. And it definitely has far more foreign, oddball and minor league sets listed.

I registered on that site and just tried Josh Hamilton and the cards it returned were FAR less than Beckett. I think I'm missing or doing something wrong with the inventory search.

I'm on the staff for the Inventory system, I'll have a look.

Ah, the major discrepancies seem to be due to an indecision at SCF on how to handle the Topps Tek patterns and Moments and Milestones sets. Those aside, the numbers are a bit closer now. 2197 @ Beckett vs 1942 @ SCF. Not perfect, but better than the 1880-someting from a few minutes ago.

We've now added all the Topps Tek variations to the Inventory Manager at SCF, so the numbers for Josh Hamilton now look like this:

Beckett: 2252
SCF: 2039

Moments and Milestones still represent about 200 of the difference.

I was going to see what came up for Garvey, but I apparently don't know how to work it. I tried a general search and go no hits? and then hit that player index button and got an error message.

What is the secret?

Hit the "Inventory Manager" link at the top of the screen, you should get a page with search boxes for player, number, set, year, etc (it may ask you to log in again). Just enter Steve Garvey in the player name and hit search.
