New Pete Rose set..

I was looking at Beckett last night and was surprised to see an ad for a new set released by Leaf consisting of all Pete Rose cards. Looks like it has tons of his autograph, most of them with some sort of commentary from the hit king himself. Looks like a complete lack of logos, and some of the auto cards are pretty plain.

I saw these a week or two ago, some of the autos might be fun to get, but for the $75+ or so they seem to be getting a box, I'll stick to picking up a few of his autographed vintage cards instead

$70 and every box guaranteeing a Pete Rose auto doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. Many of them have inscriptions along with a GU bat,jersey or patch piece too.

I think it's actually a very decent deal. Most of the signings I've seen from him lately are $69 or up. I just tend to prefer my autographs from my childhood heroes to be on items from the era I remember. Gives me a little more nostalgia now that I'm getting old, plus I can get psa slabbed for $40-60, and non certified a ton cheaper. GU has lost almost all meaning to me, so that doesn't do much for me. The inscriptions are cool, but it's Pete Rose, he'll inscribe anything if the cash is there
