Hey guys, I wanna buy a couple boxes to bust. Thinking about Topps Tier One and I want a box of football. But what football? What do you guys think?

Sorry, I have no input for you. I'm just marking the thread because i'll probably have the same question in January.

Alan

A box of Tier 1? I hope two or three of your six cards in the box are good.

Tier one is such a hit or miss. Mostly a miss. I have seen many boxes opened and all they got was 3 bucks worth of cards out of a 75 dollar box...
Leaf has some nice stuff now. even though they are not with MLB anymore.
Allen and Ginter is always a fave for people.
Lineage was a good product. i liked it alot..

That's what im kind of worried about. But who knows, I might pull a sweet koufax or pujols auto lol

What are you looking for? Only new stuff? rookies? profit? parallels?

Personally I pick up older stuff with decent inserts/parallels. 2005 Topps Pack Wars, 1999/2000 Topps Stars, Topps Gold Label, older Fleer Ultra boxes, Late 90's Donruss/Leaf products were always fun I've pulled Sabathia and Jeter autos, inserts /100 or less, hats off and Picture perfect inserts, Gold Leaf Stars, etc, and a lot of times it's $25-40/box. I'm not going to get rich, but even a bad box has some cool cards for the money spent, and I kick myself a lot less. It's fun to bust, a box gets me a decent start on a set, and I remember the feeling I had when I opened those products the first time. That excitement seeing the blue border in the middle of the Fleer jumbo pack, the disappointment of it being Scott Leius instead of Frank Thomas, sliding the Topps Chrome cards apart slowly, trying to guess who the refractor was.

tier 1 is a nice looking product but I got smoked on my box ... its just like any other box though - you either hit big or get a couple $8 autos / jerseys that your lucky to get a buck for ... unfortunately for me lately its been a ton of duds ... anyhoots, good luck with your choice! erik

Don't know alot about the football but my box of certified hockey wasn't bad and I did see a sweet Adrian Peterson pulled from the football box that was open at the LCS. I do know that the Hockey and football look alike

Are you looking for bang for your buck or to quench the need the to open something? ie Do you want 24-36 packs or 1-10 packs?
Do you collect Hockey as well as baseball and football?
If you are just looking for cards for your collection I would just find singles on Ebay or COMC.

Well I have been wanting to rip some packs for the past couple of months. I want to get the bang for my buck but at the same time I have seen some of the "duds" that people have been pulling. I only collect baseball and football. What box would you recommend for baseball?

For Baseball I'd go with 2011 Topps Chrome. I busted a box and got a couple of good cards and it was fun.

For baseball I would open any of the following
2011 Topps Chrome
2011 Bowman
2011 Bowman Chrome
2011 Finest
2011 Lineage
I found them all to be fun to open and you can get some
