I know I said I was getting out of the hobby of cards, BUT i'm really honestly thinking about buying a box of this. The checklist is pretty cool and I would LOVE to pull a Kate Upton auto!

I am right with you on this, never bought it in the past, thinking about buying a box this year.
Even if I don't, will collect the following subsets: whales, historical leaders, historical turning points.
I already preordered a box because I am really thinking it might be the best year since '06, if not better. Babe Ruth makes his appearance in the base set along with Aaron and Mays and of course Bryce Harper and Yu. I would definitely consider it.
My gut tells me that unless Topps really ran the presses on this one, it's going to be hot out of the gate, supply will dry up quickly, and the secondary market prices will be insane. I'd pre-order what you want to ensure a decent price...
I know supply has dried up quickly in the past, retail and hobby, but the last two years my local Target has had overstock and they have had to put the extra packs in those variety pack boxes. Still, they are very desirable and don't drop in value much like other products.
My wife isn't a card collecter AT ALL, BUT i'm hoping to change that lol. I'm going to try to put together the "Mans Best Friend" subset. I put together the "Uninvited Guests" set from last year, which I think is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for it to come out!
Uninvited Guest minis was my favorite mini set ever, hands down. I love watching Ghost Adventures and other ghost shows so I had heard of all of the places previously. You don't see many, if any, cards dealing with ghosts so I loved that set as well. I don't think I'll do any mini sets this year, though. I would've liked Musical Masters if it would've had more recent musicians but it doesn't. Well, good luck if you break open some A&G.

There is a thread on here that you can pre-order 2012 A&G boxes on. I will more than likely not be collecting any odd minis so they'll be available to you folks for my needs.

Hmmm...I'll probably try to put the Giants of the Deep and Man's Best Friend mini sets together. Not quite sure on the others yet.

I spent $90 on a hobby box last year. I was shorted a hit, had duplicates and triples of cards, dinged corners and damaged sps. I felt ripped off and literally did not sort the inserts for a few months after. I tried emailing them a few times and had no luck so I bit the bullet and mailed them my story and they sent me a Tim Hudson gu. I love the product but since I mainly buy this for TTM autographs, I went a new route this year and pre-ordered a complete base set for the cost of a blaster. I'll buy a few packs and blasters but probably won't be doing a hobby box again until they fix their quality issue.. or lower the price.
Hit my LCS yesterday and he said he should have them Friday so a weekend purchase is probably in order for me. Depending on price I will do one or two boxes to give me something to work with the following week when I am on vacation.
