Triple Threads - excellent issue for the player collector - not so much for the set builder and nearly an impossible task for the deep pocket collector that attempts to put a master set together!! Display boxes (containing 2 packs) are running about $200 per display box - for 14 cards. Now if you are fortunate enough to pull a Mantle / Berra cut signature #ed to 3 - then the equation changes drastically.

2 gripes - the numbering is still on the front of the card - what is up with that? PLEASE number the cards on the reverse! And Ken Griffey Jr on the box? I know that Topps has inked a long term deal with Jr.... but why not Trout, Price, Hamilton, Jeter (I can't believe that I included him.....) Giancarlo Stanton, Cabrera, to name a few.... Any of these would be fantastic on the box OR why not all of them - then the boxes themselves become collectibles????

The cards are well done and the design is clean. I don't know about all of the designations on the triple relic cards - Laser Show, DirtBag, (how do they know that Beltre goes Comando???) Lots of the cards have the autos on the card - well done!!

Overall grade A- very pricey for the average collector.

Go buy several display boxes and send the Rays and their parallels to me!!

Great review and nice hit on the Lawrie. Why the gripe on the numbering on the front of the card?

I would like to trade you for the Clemente card; let me see what Rays #'ed and refractors I can find for you. Also, like 2000Doubles said, why is it so bad to have the serial numbering in the front of the card?

As far as the numbering on the front of the card - I think it detracts from the card. I would like to see the numbering on the reverse in a 'special box'. It would not detract from the picture on the front and could be put in a place that is easier to read. AND Thank You for actually reading the review!

I wasn't able to find anything comparative to it. I was only able to find these three rays
2003 Topps Chrome Gold Refractors #426 B.J. Upton DP SER 449 $10.00
2008 Topps Chrome X-Fractors #193 Evan Longoria - $15.00
2007 Finest X-Fractors #150 Delmon Young SER 25 $12.00 It says only made to 25 but it says 50 on the card

and I did find this one but I will not trade it for the pedroia, I would need a lot more for it
2008 Topps Red Hot Rookie Redemption #17 Evan Longoria AU AU - $100.00

I used to not really care too much but when looking at a higher end card I can see the point of having the numbering on the back. It can take away from the card and ruin the design flow in my opinion.

Folks - due to circumstances beyond my control - I cannot access your addys.... please PM your addy along with the card(s) you requested and I will attempt to fill the requests. Sorry for the delay.
