Hi,
I'm looking to get some trading going, but it's been a bit slow, and I'm not sure what to post to get things rolling again...
I have more than 1000 wants Red Sox listed my up-to-date trade page (http://www.sportscardfun.com/trader/sox_prospector.asp), as well as more than 3000 cards for trade listed. In the last year, I've made dozens and dozens of trades where I took tradebait rather than cards on my want list, so if you haven't checked my cards for trade lately, maybe it's a good time to give it another look. (I'm also continually adding to my wants, too.)
I've also bought a lot of new stuff over the last year: 2012 Bowman, Bowman Chrome, Bowman Chrome Draft, Bowman Platinum Bowman Sterling, Finest, A&G, Heritage, and Topps Inserts. I also have a bunch of 2013 Topps inserts to trade.
I'm also always happy to get some RC/prospect card trading going, too. Just let me know who you're looking for. (I have a lot of this sort of stuff to trade, but I don't have a lot of it listed on my trade page. The reasoning behind this is that I'm trying to keep trading with me using my trade page simple: if you propose an equal BV trade that hits my listed wants and picks from the cards I have listed for trade, then, boom, we're done. But because I'm always seeking to add easy-to-hit wants on my trade page (in an effort to be easy to trade with), I don't list cards for trade that I don't necessarily want to trade for a handful of, say, 1997 Fleer cards. That doesn't mean I won't... it just depends. So, I don't have many BV $20+ cards listed on my trade page and I've only listed a tiny fraction of the RC/prospect cards I have for trade... as I'm typically looking to trade RC/prospect stuff for other RC/prospect stuff.
The guys/years I'm looking for, by the way, are:
Adam Jones (2003, 2006), Albert Pujols (2001), Andrew McCutchen (2005), Buster Posey (2010), Carlos Gonzalez (2005), Derek Jeter (1993), Jason Heyward (2007, 2010), Joey Votto (2002), Jurickson Profar (2011), Manny Machado (2010), Mariano Rivera (1992), Matt Kemp (2005), Mike Piazza (1992), Miguel Cabrera (2000), Mike Stanton (2008, 2010), Mike Trout (2010, 2011), Pedro Martinez (1991), Prince Fielder (2005), Ryan Braun (2005), Wil Myers (2010)... as well as HOFers, and other future HOFers.
Maybe it's time to give my trade page an overhaul. So, if you have any feedback on how I can change my tradepage to help me be easier to trade with, I'd love to hear it. I'd also be interested to hear ideas for listing higher-BV and "harder-to-get" stuff to my trade page in a way that won't invite bad offers. Maybe I just need to start putting more of it all out there, and get used to saying "no" sometimes. I dunno.
Anyway, I'm also player-collecting Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Will Middlebrooks, Ryan Lavarnway, and Craig Breslow.
I'm also happy to look for cards for set-builders, and I have much that is not listed on my trade page. (And I don't mind taking pretty much whatever tradebait anytime I'm just sending away commons, semi-stars or low-end star cards.) Some of the brands where I could be helpful to set-builders are:
Bowman (2012)
Bowman Chrome (2006-12)
Bowman Draft (2002, 2003, 2005-12)
Bowman Platinum (2010-12)
Bowman Sterling (2007, 2009-12)
Donruss Elite Extra (2009)
Finest (2010-12)
Team USA (2003-2011)
Topps (2001-2006, 2010, 2012, 2013)
Topps Allen & Ginter (2008, 2012)
Topps Chrome (2008, 2012)
Topps Traded/Update (2001-2009, 2012)
There are also many other brands/years where I only have fewer than 100 cards, but it couldn't hurt to ask. Before I discovered trading (in 2010), I used to buy way-too-much stuff on eBay... and would occasionally buy large lots/entire collections... so I have a lot of random stuff (most of it not listed). For example, I am well-organized by player for HOFers, stars and semi-stars... but there are plenty of semi-stars you won't find listed on my trade page. It doesn't mean I don't have them, it just may mean I haven't gotten around to listing them.
Anyway, if anyone read even a fraction of what I just wrote, I really appreciate it!
Thanks!
Trevor
