I have gotten a few of these cards in the boxes I have bought and had a few questions about these:

1.) Does anybody actually collect these?

2.) Did Topps do this for every card in each year they produced cards?

3.) Has anybody ever gotten a star player? The closest I have seen is Joe Torre. Anybody gotten a Mantle or Mays or someone close to that?

I was just curious as to what other people think.

Thanks,

Bryon

I pulled a very nice one ;
2011 Topps Heritage Buyback with Gold Foil 50th Anniversary Stamp
1962 Topps #320 Hank Aaron 60/40 Centering with no marks or dings !
I also pulled a very RARE 2014 Topps Heritage Mini card of The Rolling Stones ,the last card in the set with all the Band in Photo. The insertion rate was unbelievable.
The problem here is they didnt stamp those with Gold Anniversary so you dont know how rare it was. I contacted Topps and they said only a couple of these cards were inserted in 2014 Topps Heritage.
If you collect any Topps Buybacks I have over 100 of them 2013,2014 ect
Just my 2 cents yes they insert some nice ones but mostly commons and worn ones at that.

1.) Does anybody actually collect these? I don't.

2.) Did Topps do this for every card in each year they produced cards? Most of the ones I pulled are from the 1970's.

3.) Has anybody ever gotten a star player? The closest I have seen is Joe Torre. Anybody gotten a Mantle or Mays or someone close to that? Not me!

I've never seen any big stars but I will say this year the ones I pulled were in really nice shape as opposed to other years. I pulled a 60-something Don Blasingame that must have ridden in at least 5 bicycles (if anyone here remembers doing that - clothespin with card on one of your spokes)
