I decided to put my normal stamp budget for November and December into potential Black Friday deals at my local card shop.

That plan backfired as they didn't have anything I liked. I did however buy a mandolin.

So I haven't sent much out. And no sending means limited receiving. But I have gotten a few...

NOVEMBER 30
Mike Sweeney (soccer, not baseball), 5/4, 2 months, wrote a short note back

DECEMBER 11
Joe Waters, 5/4, 2 months, wrote a short note back

DECEMBER 14
Garry Howatt, c/o home, 1/1, 5 months, personalized (Fleer Throwbacks set hit!)

DECEMBER 17
Pato Margetic, 1/3, 2 and a half months, kept two cards

I plan to start hitting my 2002-03 Topps Total hockey set very hard in the next few weeks-- found a potential 18 addresses for players I need, including one I thought I'd never have a chance at (I just need some Slovakian stamps for him and a couple others). I also will be mailing out all those Florida Panthers 11x14s that I bought when I thought I could get them IP.

I'm sure you know this, but you can buy global forever stamps at your local PO, they are good for the return trip SASE as well! Those are easier to come by than postage from Slovakia!!

God Bless, thanks for posting!

Actually the global forever stamps are only good for the trip out. The return trip needs postage from the country the envelope is originating from. I have to do it a lot with Canadian stamps for hockey requests, and have had to do it for some soccer requests as well. Sometimes I just toss in a couple dollars if I'm lazy (which I usually am). And fortunately, I found someone on another board who is in Slovakia and said I can buy postage through him, so I have an option there.
