So I wonder, if Fanatics now has NFL, MLB, and NBA(do they have NBA), will topps now be the company that does them all?

When will Fanatics take over? Or have they already? I would think they would want a seemless transition.

EDIT: the article says immediately.

So…..

For those of you that collect the topps flagship set, will you continue to do so? That is all that I collect and I had been thinking that I would be done once fanatics took over. Now that it’s hAppening sooner, I may just give up now. What do you think??

I think this is probably great news for Topps collectors. From what I've read, at least as far as products go, it'll be business as usual. I wouldn't imagine much would change, as far as production. I think the entire point of buying Topps would have been to keep it going because of its brand recognition. I'd imagine this move means that there will be less folks considering leaving the hobby.

Personally, I'd already made up my mind to quit collecting cards. Now I'm kinda intrigued by the fact that there could eventually be a fully licensed Allen and Ginter products that include other sports (football and basketball at least).

My guess is that nothing changes for Topps. Fanatics would just own them, but they would operate as usual, same with any other organization takeover - most people do not even know that other companies have bought them.

That's great news! I had a feeling that was going to happen...typically i'm wrong, but i'm glad it's happening, ha ha. Smart move on Fanatics part, and if the news about all Topps employee's staying on is true, that's even better.

I had thought about retiring from Topps Heritage after the 2021 set. But with Fanatics in charge, I will continue with the 2022 set out of curiosity. But the plans for 2022 are probably set so I don't expect any change by the March 2 release date.
