@TC84

From what I've found, it's a legit in person event. "The venue is closed to the public and public visitors. Only partners and authorized brand representatives invited by NFLPI (NFL Players Inc.) can attend." I've even found info about this year's event, which seems to indicate the people in the stands are real spectators. The on-field event is taking place at Cal Lutheran University on 5/17:

Finally! Got one on Doc... possibly. I bet those people aren't even real. Just superimposed in the background. I've been wrong before, though

@TC84

I stand corrected. Even though it is an in-person event with people watching the players, I found this info:

"On the Rob Gronkowski 2010 Topps Prime #42 rookie card, the crowd in the background stands is superimposed—specifically, it is a stock photography background rather than a real crowd from his draft day or a game. The 2010 Topps Prime set utilized a specific "studio" aesthetic for its rookie cards. While the photo of Gronkowski himself was taken at the 2010 NFLPA Rookie Premiere, the background was digitally swapped."

Good catch, TC!

I'll take it! At least one... lol I thought all the "crowd in background" variants used superimposed people. I was being sarcastic about the NFLPA paying anyone for that. It'd be alot cheaper to superimpose people instead of giving each person a check after the shoot.
Just a thought... make it a competition to get to be on the Rookie Premier.

Been a little bit (pretty much like always!!) - this one has been on the desk for a bit after a sale fell through. 2011 Topps Cognac SP - Honus Wagner

Ya'll know I don't do baseball.... so what does the logo stand for???
As I was writing that it hit me like a brick to the temple... "Pittsburgh Baseball Club"
I've got a Gognac Tris Speaker... very cool "Brown Ice" Refractor! lol

I believe I don't have any Topps Easter inserts, so just regular stuff today....been scanning the backs of cards lately, usually just do that if there's a ser. # on the back...guess it helps if you might need the year of production if it doesn't look familiar? Was also thinking of uploading pics to TCDB.....anybody here do that?

Ive thought of that... but the whole process of taking card out of sleeve/top loader, scanning both sides, returning to sleeve/top loader, cropping, uploading to tcdb sounds horrible to me... but hey... have fun!!

You were about 9 when the Cowboys were actually good too. I had no idea Pogs was a game!
It was a great time in my life!! lol Only thing I really had to worry about was if my homework was done and the house was decent when my parents got home.... We went to Moose's Wednesday night radio show and me and my cousin got autographs from players. Game days me and my Dad would throw the football in the parking lot before making the mile trek to the stadium. Went to 2 camps in Austin when they were held there... I remember the players and how popular they were, but didn't realize at the time how GREAT some of them were. I do wish I was a little older to appreciate that part.
And ya, you'd stack up the pogs facing up then use the "Slammer" to throw down on the pogs. They would go everywhere and the ones that landed upside down you got to keep. That's how we played, at least. there were some nifty Slammers out, and cases for your pogs you could fasten to your belt in case someone wanted to challenge you in those mean streets of South Grand Prairie! It was intense! lmao
