NICE! I've really come to be enamored with the 72 set recently. I think it is a cool set with loads of stars (with the IA cards there are twice as many right off) and subsets, not to mention high #s. I consider 1980 and earlier vintage but for me 1972 Topps was the last of the real vintage...
That card went up in value after he was inducted into the Hall. After that everyone, including me, was scrambling through their commons boxes for that RC!
I have a ton of sets I am working on many of which are easy to hit. I'll send you a list of some of my sets I am working on and if there are any you may be able to help me on, I'll send you the actual want lists.
That Gardner's Brewers was a strange deal. About a month before 9/11, I bought...
I still cannot believe that the checklist you need is not the high series #588 which is a bear to find in decent shape.......or any shape for that matter.
When I scrolled down to like Scobe's card just previous to yours, I saw approximately the top 5% or so of this card and with the green outline, the bill of the cap and the glove I knew it was the 1965 Yaz. It is a pretty unique looking card and quite recognizable, at least to me! LOL
You may remember me from several trades we made years ago where I was looking for 1985 Gardner's Brewers. I know you completed at least one set for me and I'm still looking for more of the last three cards in that set.
I have all 7 1985 football you need in the condition you want. I can...
Hard to believe he only had 4 complete seasons (three of which were dominant) and 3 shortened injury plagued seasons. I know a lot of people don't think he should be in the Hall of Fame because of this but I always viewed him as a Hall of Famer despite the numbers not backing my "feeling" up...
Looks like you got an early birthday present from the Cowboys on Sunday. I turned on the TV thinking I was going to watch a football game and ended up seeing a massacre instead! Geez, that was a beating.
Great card! I always considered him a HOFer decades before he was actually inducted. He was a HUGE factor in the Eagles finally becoming competitive after years of poor to mediocre teams. At 6'8" he was a unique player to say the least I'm not sure there has been another wide receiver that...
Now I am trying to remember if I traded you that complete Cowboy Franchise Game set or not in an early trade of ours? ITs' not like I make a lot of trades here so I should remember that. UGH
I was shocked to find out you had one of these already on our first trade. I have 2 sets of them and an extra Cowboys set which I was positive you would need but you didn't. Cool thing about the Irvin card is it is a 1988, one year before his RC!
Upon further review, I'm not sure if...
Talk about attractiveness being a subjective matter. I thought Topps did a great job with the 1986 set after years of rather boring designs. Outside of the 1985 set all the cards were white bordered and many were rather similar looking. Granted I am one who does not like glitzy looking...
The Division II equivalent to the Heisman Trophy is named after Harlon Hill. I was shocked to find out that after the 2019 NFL season, Hill still held 15 Bears receiving records and some of them were quite impressive. He was well on his way to a HOF career before injuries took their toll...
I know it is hard to see certain imperfections on cards with online pics but i would have thought this card and the pahn would have been a little bit higher. Were you happy with the grades you got on those two cards?
Unfortunatley I can't send pictures as I am very tech challenged. However, I can send you these cards first and if you want them we can work the deal out. If not, just PWE them back the way I send them to you.
If that sounds like a plan, PM me your mailing address and I'll get these out to...
I found 3 cards you need. 541 Bolin, 556 Yankees team595 Gullett. The big problem with all three of these is centering wich is 90/10 L to R (or visa vesa. LMK if you are interested in these and we'll work something out.
BTW I checked my 2 sets for the Berra variation you needed. Both had...
I live in the Syracuse market and it s very odd that Syracuse University acts like Csonka never played there. Obviously Ernie Davis as the first black Heisman Trophy winner is closely associated with the school as was Floyd Little and Jim Brown as well after they made amends after a decades...
Great! I won't be able to check tonight but will over the weekend. I'm sure I'll have some for you...........not the Kaline bandage one though. When I heard about that I checked my dups and sets and didn't have one unfortunately.
