If a trader did as you suggest, block you and keep the cards for free, he or she would be quickly banned by the staff. I think in my 4 years here, 2 traders got banned, and I'm pretty sure both of them were send first members.
i've been chasing this League Leader card for a couple of years. I set a limit of $15 for it. Finally got it. Corners are a little rounded for my taste, but the centering is ok. Only 3 to go to complete my LL subsets from 1960-1981.
Here's hoping in 2027 this will be a 3 HoF card.
One of the first black qbs to play at a non-hbcu university was Craig Curry who starred for the Gophers. He led my high school to the National Championship in the mid-60s. Unheard of in the South.
What an interesting challenge. My first impulse is to say Frank Ryan. In that video with Gary Collins catching a TD from #13, that's definitely Ryan. I don't remember McDonald on the Browns. I thought he went to the Falcons the year after the card pictures him on the Rams.
For those of us who were early fans of the AFL expansion, we remember this qb for being just terrible. His knees were so weak he would regularly just fall down while scrambling. I suspect the picture was taken from this angle to avoid seeing the knee braces. Added plus, that's a real IP auto...
This is THE what coulda been card. Two absolutely lights out pitchers whose careers fizzled leaving them on the outside looking in.
I saw Gooden pitch in '84 and '85. Electric!
I was in Cooperstown once when I was 13. Loved it. Got some 1948 Exhibit cards which I still have today. Learned about a lot of early stars like Wee Willie Keeler, Hughie Jennings, and my favorite named player of all time, Pud Galvin.
Just want to finish up on this. I never understood why Jerry wasn't voted into the Hall sooner. He himself was miffed by it and spoke out about it. I think some media supporters like Jim Rome may have helped to keep his HOF case alive until he was properly recognized.
Here's his RC:
And whille we're at it, don't forget the Packers O-line of the 60s - Jim Ringo HOF, Forrest Gregg HOF, Jerry Kramer the first great pulling guard HOF, and Fuzzy Thurston.
Gotta weigh in here.
The Dolphins O-Line of the '70s had Jim Langer HOF, Larry Little HOF, Bob Kuechenberg should be HOF, Norm Evans 2x Pro Bowler. Blocking for the first ever tandem of RBs to each gain 1000 yds in a season.
