OK now wait. Does this means Topps buys 1976 origianl cards back from people? And if so, how do they know they are not getting beaters?
Inquiring mind wants to know.
OK I have a couple of questions on this. Is this an actual 1976 Topps baseball card that Topps put the 50th anniversary stamp on or is it a reprint? And was this inserted in packs or did you have to send away for it?
I realize I am showing total ignorance on new cards but as they say...
WOW dude! That is some haul!!!
Are you going to get any of those Mantles graded? Some people say that every Mantle should be graded and I kind of get that philosophy. For sure the 1953 Topps should get graded and from the picture I'd think that 1961 Topps would bring in a really nice...
"Will grade at least an 8 or 9". The key part being "at least". Could even be a 10. LMAO!!!!!
Sounds to me like a real grading "expert". You know the kind whose cards are "at least an 8 or 9" but if you had that same exact card it would be a 4 in his opinion.
Geez, I cannot believe how...
Here is a good example of that with Al Kaline playing 1st base in his last regular Topps player card. The DH kind of took the place of the move to 1st base by keeping productive bats in the lineup while keeping aging hitters completely off the field...
Late in his career when he slowed down he made the move to first base. A lor of big time hitters would make that move late in their careers to keep their bats in the lineup while not making them a defensive liability due to age and injuries.
As many times as I've seen McDonald's 1966 Philadelphia card (pictured below) it never occured to me that his maskless helmet was his actual helmet. I thought they just grabbed a Rams helmet without the facemask to get a better picture. 60 years later I discover this was not a prop.
I'm...
TUBBS! The man, the myth, the legend! It still makes me LOL as to how his 1965 Philadelphia Football card made such an impression on my then 6 year old mind.
This is Tubbs related and I meant to post this short video after Scobes posted a Tommy McDonald card here a month or so ago...
Great card! I was wondering if he was going to be in a Browns or Dolphins uniform. Despite him being with the Dolphins in their Super Bowl runs I always think of him as a Brown.
Bert Campaneris? Did it have something about him throwing his bat at Lerrin LaGrow of the Tigers in the AL Playoffs? Was it something by David Allen Coe?
