I would DEFINITELY recommend Mr. Trucks's book. I'm one of those nerds who read tons of baseball books and "Throwing Heat: The Life and Times of Virgil Trucks" is more than worth a read. (I'm also a writer and teach writing/English at the college level, so I like to think I have discerning taste.)
