I recently read an article in ESPN The Magazine(don't laugh, I was getting my oil changed and it was all they had) and there was an article about a guy trying to get all the copies of the 1964 Topps #103 Curt Flood. Has anybody had any trouble trying to track this card down? I think Beckett lists it for around 5.00. Has anybody else heard of this? I do remember hearing about someone who was trying to get a bunch of Rocky Colavito cards but that was years ago and I was never even sure if it was true. I also wonder how hard this would be. Obviously it would seem to be easier now than the days before the internet but is this really even possible? How many copies of this card are actually out there. I would think at least a million or more?

Any guesses?

Check ebay from time to time and they tend to be more expensive that they should because of this. it can be quite difficult to get one, although I dig grab a decent one for about $8 about a month ago. the only reason i wanted it was I saw the story online and most were selling in double digits!!

Well, if you have one of those '64's, then you now know who your market is, eh? It's the retired guy from Atari.

I have about 500 88 Donruss Canseco cards, but don't think I have the market cornered. There are close to 10 million still floating around I am sure.

I am going to the Shriner's Show in November and I think I will try and pick one up. I will not pay more than 10.00 though. I only have a couple hundred 1964's but Flodd is not one of them.

Ok , just checked my 64's and there is one in the box .
It's in pretty nice condition too , great centering.
He can have it , but not a penny less than a $100.
Guess , I'll ,probably, be keeping it :)

Nice card. Any thoughts to put it on Ebay? I wonder what they are currently selling for.

Had the card graded .
Was it BECKETT , PSA , GSA , SCG , GMA , CIA , KGB , TNT or BBC ?
No , it was MWCG ,aka, the "Mark Wing Condition Guide."
Being the "expert" I am ,
(note the small e)
I got out my magnifying glass and proceeded to the guide.
Here are the results ......
Centering : NM
Edges : EX-M
Corners : EX +
Surface :EX-M
Overall Grade : EX-M
...........
I consider myself a "conservative grader" , but , if I decide later
that I'm not happy with that grade , I'll recheck the "Guide" and maybe
I can bring it up to an EX-M+ or even ++ .
