Jerry - I have a bunch of 1972 and 1976 that you need. Do you have any extra Pirates or Steelers from the 1950s, 1960s, or 1970s for trade?

I'm sure I have some 70's Pirates for trade, and more than likely some Steelers from the same era; however, my football cards are all in a giant box and not sorted. I will check on the '70's Pirates in the meantime. I don't have anything earlier than the 70's though. I'll get back to you. Thanks.

Jerry,
Thanks for the great list of Pirates. I would like to trade for nearly all of them, 56 to be exact. I'm leaving out the 1971 Maz (for now) because it's a bit pricey. I'm also going to pass on the 1978 Fregosi, because I have several already. I found 76 cards you need for your 1976 set. I will send you the numbers shortly. Most are very nice, but a few are off-center. I wondered how much that mattered to you. I'll send scans of those when I send the card numbers. Also, card #606 the Brewers team, has the checklist marked on the back. Your call on that one. I included some HOFers in the group to cover the Stargell cards, namely Lou Brock, Jim Palmer, and Don Sutton. If all of these would be acceptable to you, I offer these 76 from '76 in trade for the 56 I picked from your list.

Numbers and scans next,
Mark

Sounds great, Mark. I'll throw in the Maz card for free because it's not in the best condition. I'll send you some scans as well. Thanks.

Jerry,
Here are the card numbers for the 1976s I have for you:
4, 10 Brock, 33, 39, 56, 57, 68, 70, 71, 72, 81, 84, 87, 90, 96, 97, 99, 107, 109, 113, 125, 134, 175,177, 189, 213, 214,217,219,231,273,281,284,287, 289, 298, 306, 335, 339, 367, 404, 410, 413, 415, 417, 434, 438, 450 Palmer, 472, 494,501,507, 516, 517, 524, 530 Sutton, 532, 534, 535, 539, 544, 551, 553, 554, 557, 558, 568, 571, 576, 582, 602, 606, 613, 618, 633, 637

No problem on the pics. Thanks.
Some of the '71's I'm offering are not in great shape, namely the #27, #47, #343 & 388; however, the high numbered cards from that year are very nice and tough to get. The '78 Garner card has a crease as well but not very noticeable unless you hold it to the light. Pics of all of the cards are attached. Please take a look and make sure you're ok with them, as I'm just a beginner at grading cards.

I can't make the pics big enough to examine the cards but from what I can tell, they'll do just fine. I'm going to send you a pm in a couple minutes so that we can finish our trade in private.

I remembered this morning that my work schedule is a little different this week, so maybe it would be easier for us just to mail cards to each other. I'll see if I can post are trade under Transactions for you to confirm, and then we'll go from there.
Thanks,
Mark

Jerry I should be able to help with some of your ‘76 Topps wants. I finished the set and I have a box of extras that are nice and would like to trade them for help with ‘70, ‘71, ‘72 and ‘74 needs. I’ll get back to you with a list. I think I have one on here somewhere so let me find and check it for being current.

Hi Ron,

Nice to hear from you again. Hope you are doing well.

I wanted to ask if you have a '71 Wantlist, as I'm pretty heavy on the extras from that year. Not so much with the other years you mentioned, but I will check.

Thanks,

Jerry

Jerry I have a ‘71 wantlist but let me do the same and check it before I send it to you.
Ron - I have these from your '72 list. I'm still developing an eye for this, but I'd say these are VG to EX. In any event, I would send first so that you can decide which suit your condition needs and adjust the trade accordingly. You can then send back any you don't want.

Let me know when you get your '71 list together and I'll send you some more pics. Thanks....Jerry

Jerry - First off, the '72 cards look great and you don't have to scan them for me. I don't need EX or MT. I'm happy just to get set help. I just need the player pic area to be fairly decent and I trust your judgement. I don't care if it is off center or has dings or whatever. It's very frustrating lately on the Bench because my cards are decent condition but when I send a scan I'm told 'your card(s) are not MINT?' Well yeah, these cards are 50-55 years old. Then go on eBay or COMC and see what you can find for a reasonable price. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

Here is my 1971 Topps Want list.
(Because of the Short Print in the early '70s sets I kind of have given up trying to complete these sets and fill in the commons and minor stars. So, if I can trade for a few here and there especially if I remember that player it's fun to add them.)

Lol...yeah, I've been getting the same thing concerning condition. I thought it was just me. I'm glad you mentioned that. I feel better now.
I'll start looking over your '71 list. I'm sure I can help you with quite a few of those.

Hi Ron,

I have the following from your 71 Wantlist:

Jerry - Unfortunately I only have one card from your want list. But any trade is good, even a small one.

I get:
9 George Scott $2
226 Bill Russell $2
320 Dave McNally $2

you get:
361 Don Sutton $6

I have these (13) from your '72 Topps want list if you still need them.
3 25 31 54 57 69 117 118 153 155 158 163 164
Would you trade for these for the (13) '72 Topps you have for me?

Jerry - I also have these '72 topps from your want list if you want to trade more of your '71 topps for them.

Jerry - You may know this but card #42 Boots Day in this set has a variation. The regular card has a stadium light behind his ear. The variation has no stadium light. I have the one with the stadium light. A good source to check for odd variations is TCDB (Trading Card Data Base). Ron
