I have been meaning to send to Doc..at 74, he still manages the San Angelo Colts, an independent team in the United League Baseball league..it really shows how much he loves the game because it is very very low level indy ball.
a great story about him was when he became a coach(in 67) and then in 1970, a series of injuries hit the Phillies so he was activated and played catcher for 35 games.he had not played in the majors in 5 years but came back and hit a respectable .269.pretty impressive
