Please help me out on this, though I am late and, probably, just an idiot.
I'm working on putting this set together, with the help of God (and my fellow Benchers), but I can't figure it out. It is not just a pricing issue, but that is part of it as I don't subscribe to Beckett online. In any event can anyone help me understand this set?
As I understand it, the base set (#s 1-425) is green back. Of those, some greenbacks were shortprinted. They are listed in my Beckett Baseball monthly as "Common GB SP" or "GB SP Semis" or "GB SP Unlisted."
Then Beckett has "Common SPs", and "SP Unlisted Stars". WHat are these? Are they green back or black back? How do you determine if you have only the card #?
Then I guess there are black back cards. Are these a variation of the green back base (meaning there is both a green back and black back) or something else?
I also have a list that sets forth the "Short Prints" and the "Black back variations." Where do these fit in with respect to the foregoing?
Sorry for rambling on, but I am really confused (as you can tell). There is probably a simple explanatio, but I can't seem to figure it out!
Thanks!!
Frank
