I had some fun the last couple of days at the Winter Meetings here in Orlando.

Here are the autos I got. (Security started cracking down on autos or I would have a lot more.)

so what was the experience like?how long were you there? how did security start cracking?just curious...they come to dallas next year i think..did you try to get any that refused?sorry for the questions, this post is very interesting as i have heard of great successes at winter meetings and am curious as to how many people are trying to get autos, etc...thanks in advance for your response!!congrats on the haul

I had fun, 2 days, security would throw you out if they saw you getting autos or talking pictures. It's at a very expensive hotel and they would ask if you were staying there which none of us graphers were and then they would escort you out the door.

Plenty of guys refused to sign autos and even take pictures. You have to know which ones to ask and which ones not to ask. Some guys will make a scene (Al Kaline) and that you don't want because you will get escorted out real quick.

Basically if you do it right and not bring attention to yourself you will be fine.

I got most of my autos at the front door as guys were either coming in or leaving.

i saw the interview with sheffield on mlb network and while he said he had not officially retired and was still working out everyday, he was there to promote his services with contracts and finances.shef negotiated for himself the last few years and he made a comment about nba and nfl guys blowing their money and how he was hoping to talk to some new players about making sure they had all their money invested wisely...it was on this afternoon with harold reynolds

Maybe 10-15 at the most. The problem was when multiple people went after the same guy.

That is why me and my buddy sat out in the lobby by the front door. We were the only ones out there and didn't bring any unwanted attention to ourselves.

I like how everyone is dressed nice except for LaRussa. He looks like he slept in his clothes and woke up hung-over. I mean even Kruk has a suit and tie on!
