I got a 2011 Bowman Platinum Carlos Santana gold parallel that looks different than the other golds I have. The gold shading only goes about 1/2 way down the card. The top part is gold, then right at his waist, there's a weird line, then below it appears to be a normal card. The logo oval is not gold like the others are.

Compare:
All gold (weird line is visible too)

Anyone already report this? Are there other players with similar "variations", or is this just an issue with the Carlos Santana card?

I don't think yours is the gold parallel - just the way the base card background looks. It looks pretty much the same on the McCutchen card as well. I'm not considering mine to be gold parallels, at any rate.

I do believe you're correct. There's a handful on ebay saying they're gold, I suspect that'll be a problem for some people...Thanks!

Thanks for the infor. Wish they had put serial numbers on the veterans green, red, gold...etc. Best regards, David

Agreed. It's too tricky figuring some of them out. Its strange, cause usually Topps is serial-number-stamping-crazy (ie Co-signers, finest, triple threads)
