TOPPS CONFIRMS HERITAGE SHORT PRINTS AND VARIATIONS

*Base Cards 426-500 are short printed and can be found 1:3 packs.

*Replicating the original 1962 Topps , there are short printed w/ GREEN TINT variations. Subjects include cards 110-158 and 160-196. These are found in hobby boxes only.

*There is also a BLUE TINT variation (found at Wal-Mart) and a RED TINT variation (found at Target) featuring the same subjects. These are also short printed.

*Collectors can also find GREEN REFRACTOR parallels (100 subjects) that are only found in Green Refractor Hot Boxes. These Hot Boxes are 1 per hobby case.

*And at retail outlets, collectors can find a special 100-card BLACK BORDERED parallel. They are exclusive to the $8.99 3-pack blister.

*There are 6 short printed ERROR VARIATIONS, which mimic the original set:

* Alex Rodriguez (Photo Reversed w/ bat in left hand) #490

* David Wright (Cincinnati Reds) #478

* Joba Chamberlain (Card # 139) #159

* Bengie Molina (Wrong birthday) #279

* Ryan Zimmerman (Wrong batting average) #95

* Vlad Guerrero (Listed as Pitcher on card back) #125/474?

(I have added the card numbers to the variations.... to the best of my knowledge - these are correct. -- Duane)

*And exclusive to hobby boxes, there is a special 10-card JACKIE ROBINSON STORY variation that has the look and feel of the Babe Ruth Story insert. In addition, there is a relic version of each card numbered to 42.

Topps screwed up the packaging or distribution as well. How do I know? I have bought EVERY PACK of my Heritage from Wal-Mart. I have a green tint parallel (exclusive to Hobby) AND a red tint parallel (exclusive to Target).

I have a blue tint and a red tint from there respective stores, but the weird card I have found is a similar shade/tone to these cards but it is green, card #270 cedeno. I don't belive it is a tint version but very If you put it next to the other colors you would think it is a sp for sure. It would probably pass as one as well. Per the previous post there is o way I could pull a green tint because all my purchases were wal-mart/target.

Can't remember my Red tint (will look later), but my green tint is of Ryan Dempster. I have both versions of both cards and it is clear without question that they are the tint variations. Probably just a distribution problem. With your 270 Cedeno, it may just be a simple printing issue, as the red/green//blue tints only fall in between cards 110-196.

No question it is a base. You can (could) find them by the thousand on e=bay listed as sp's. Do all of the tint cards have different photo's as well. My blue is the pirates team, but the red I pulled is soria and a totally different photo then his common version.

Good question. The 2 parallels I pulled were the same photo. I do know that some have different pictures, and others have slight variations with the Heritage logo (either missing or on opposite side of card).

Just want to ask.. I bought 5 packs of heritage earlier this month at Walmart in Charlotte... Is this a Blue Tint?
#114 Kyle Drabek (Card is Darker Blue then what its scanned)

The green tints are available in retail packs - they're even listed on the wrappers as 1 in 108 packs. I've pulled a couple of them from retail packs too.

tints

I will get a scan up of the blue and red tint I have, next to their base counterparts. It will give you a better idea of the tone of the back drop.
I just need to register for photbucket. I'll try to get it on before to long.

mind blowing

Ok,
Well I still have a question on the White Sox team card. It falls in the tint card range, and I pulled two of them with a red back drop. Is this the tint variation of the card? Or does this card normally have the red back round? All other team cards I have are yellow. except the Angels I pulled in blue.

I had the same issue. The Red version is the regular. Don't know why it is different than the others.

thanks

I thought so, because they are all over e-bay. Again listed as the red tints. I feel for the suckers who are purchasing these things. I wonder if topps did it intentionally to bring a bunch of crooks into the hobby and increase sales. I still love the heritage. But bring on the Gypsy.
