I was trying to figure out what Topps was doing with baseball this year. Are they going to have the same format as last year with the digging grid?? If similiar, how hard is it going to be to get something?? If not, the same question. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Butch

I will say that any I get in my box(es) will be available for trade. I just dont like the concept and would prefer to trade them for cards that interest me. Enough already as far as I am concerned.

Thanks,

Jeff

If there is something semi easy to get, I'll trade for them. I got some nice vintage last year. Butch

I'm with you Jeff! When will the collector say "enough is enough". I am cutting back to collecting Mets base and inserts. Had enough of parallels and limited chase stuff...

I agree with you there, Jeff. I redeemed all the "Million Card Giveaway" codes I got in 2010 and didn't really get too much at all.

I traded every single "Diamond Giveaway" code I pulled last year and got tons of great stuff, way more than I probably would've gotten redeeming them.

I don't think "vintage cards" are mentioned anywhere on any sell sheets I've seen, so I'm wondering if you get something for every code, or if you sometimes just get "virtual coins". Last year even if you got a 1992 Topps Bill Doran it was at least something, ha.

If they still sell well I think I'll just sell them this year instead of trying to trade or redeem them. It seems like even though they were selling all year for $2-3 whenever I offered them for trade nobody wanted to give me a fair BV in return (if something is selling for that price I'd consider the "BV" to be at least $5). I redeemed around 20 of them and while I did at least get one die-cut and traded it for one I needed, and it was fun trading the other cards, when they day was done I got waaaaaaaaay less shipped to me than the $50 I could have sold the codes for.

I ended up getting four sets of cards, around 13 of the Die-Cut cards and this vintage card, plus others. I also had fun trading cards. Butch

1953 Topps #280 Milt Bolling RCRC - $350.00

codes

I enjoy the gamble of entering the code to see what I get.
45 codes later, not much to show for. If I sold them all for $2 a piece It would have been $88, because of the one free code you get.

I pulled 2 die cut commons $8 ea-
4 $8 vintage cards
1 $25 vintage card
$10 topps gift card
one complete set $50 bv
and about 38 near useless commons. mostly from the mid 70's.

So it's probably a wash. Weather you like to redeem, trade, them or sell them. Now the lucky person if anybody who pulled the Mantle ring that was out there it is probably worth their while for entering all there codes. My guess is that no one has seen it yet and it is sitting in an unopened pack of update stuff.
Topps must know if it came out early no one would have any interest in these and their worth and their product worth would plummet.

Was it in $350 condition?

No....:D

I'll see if I can find it to scan.

It wasn't too bad.

No creases...

I see they are doing a wrapper redemption. One problem - you need either 14 jumbo wrappers or 50 hobby wrappers but the boxes are 10 and 36 packs respectively. UGH!!! Glad I dont go for those things. I will glady trade my wrappers to someone who is interested.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff - I'll trade some (not the Rays) or most of my gold parallels to you for your wrappers.

Well, looks my pack wrappers will be for trade too. Probably won't buy any other hobby packs after I bust my box.

I will have 6 jumbo wrappers up for trade if interested. I'm getting 2 boxes and will use 14. I'm interested in gold parallels for 2011 series 1 or 2.
