First off, I am not an SP collector nor do I plan on starting but I recently busted a rack pack box of this product and noticed there were no SPs in it. It made me ask the obvious question....where do you get the SPs? I thought I could get a couple to trade away because there is no way I am chasing these things.

Also, what's up with the Bryce Harper #661a,b,c,d,(e,f,g) Is this a joke?? Do you have to sell or trade your right arm for one of these?

Yes, I am being cynical and sarcastic at the same time so don't get offended but any real insight here would satisfy my curiosity.

Typically the SPs are rare - usually one in a hobby box and maybe 2 in a Jumbo box. They did SO many versions of Harper last year it is impossible to keep track of them. I don't go after the SPs either when they are from the Topps base and update sets. I do like to use them as trade bait if I am lucky enough to pull one. Regular SPs in Heritage and A & G are a different story.

Thanks,

Jeff

So based off of what you told me I went back and checked the whole lot from this box and I guess there is one SP that I did not recognize as an SP at first...I guess this is in line with what you are telling me. These suckers are rare I guess. Thanks for the info.

They are not as rare as you think...................For example in 2012 Topps Update I pulled three of them from 1 jumbo, 1 hobby and 1 blaster...................Maybe lucky, I don't know..............The 2012 Harper's are 661a SSP very rare in series two packs ($250), 661b Auto SSP very rare in series two packs ($400), 661c front leg up, factory set ($25), 661d yelling, factory set ($25)...................I try to put the SP sets together and they are tough to find but not rare................I usually won't pay more than $5 for them on the net..................

I guess the one I got was #330 (a,b,c??) Matt kemp "Beast Mode"...I'll be trading it.
