2015 Topps Series One - MLB
36 packs - 10 cards per pack
One auto or one relic per box (hobby)
I received these:
Base:
308 unique base cards - 93% of the 330 card base set
Topps has done well on this issue. The design is completely different from any previous issues and they look great! The front of the card is glossy and the reverse is easily readable. Cards have action photos and many even have another player on the card with them. This series should be one that most set builders will chase and build. When one receives 93% in the hobby box, the complete set is not that far away. Now the gold set builder and the parallel set builder, that might prove to be a different story.
INSERTS/Parallels
Golds/Rainbows
3 golds #ed to 2015
4 rainbows
Buy Back Originals
Jose Cardenal
Jack Heidemann
Inspired Play // Highlight of the Year
5 Inspired Play
9 Highlight of the Year
Baseball History / American History
3 Baseball (1b, etc)
2 American (1a, etc)
Free Agent / First Pitch
4 Free Agent
4 First Pitch
ar-che-types // Gallery of Greats
6 ar-che-types
2 Gallery of Greats
Gallery of Greats is a framed card - photo is glossy and the frame is matte finish with silver foil. My favorite of the inserts...
Relic
Allen Craig - g/u jersey
***************************
There are a number of inserts that I did not receive in this particular box. There are rookie pins, both numbered and non numbered, manufactured relics (coins), pink, black, blue, and cammo numbered parallels and the 1/1 printing plates. The autos I have seen on the 'bay have been stickers and they should be on a base set such as this. The master set builder - depending on their definition, should be able to complete the base set and the inserts pretty easily - the parallel set builders.... not so much.
I really like this issue. Topps did a great job on the design - looks like someone put in some time on the designing (not just white bordered cards.)
Overall grade A+ -- great design!
Go buy several boxes and send me the no name (except Longoria - they traded everyone else!!!) Rays parallels to me!
