One return today: Alan Ashby c/o home in about 2 weeks. I still have vivid memories of him terrorizing the Mets in the mid-1980's. A solid player who I don't think got the credit for the type of player he truly was.

BTW-Anyone know how I can start to post scans on here? I am still not allowed to post attachments. Thanks.

You need to use something like photobucket and then you should be able to post the link to that page and your scan will show up...

Congrats

Congrats!!!
Ashby is always a great signer :)

He is a great signer, but not always. He's hit or miss. He has been signing a lot lately, though. Great success! You are correct, he did tear up the Mets for a while in the mid '80's. Ashby was an excellent catcher, and an under rated one. The Astros didn't become contenders until they finally acquired a catcher who could handle a staff with J.R. Richard, Nolan Ryan, and knuckleballer, Joe Niekro. That man was Ashby. He sure was a fun player to watch, and he's a heck of a nice guy, as well.
