Frank Bolling 2/2 - Sent 4/8, returned 4/19
1958 Topps
1960 Topps
Wow! It is not every day I get a strong and distinctive autograph from someone who played in the 1950s. Mr. Bolling debuted in 1954 with Frank Lary and Harmon Killebrew and Moose Skowron and spent half his career in Detroit ind the other half in Milwaukee with the Braves.
While I'm a Tigers fan all the way, it must have been awesome to spend half a career in the NL and the other half in the AL. According to the book Baseball in Mobile, Mr. Bolling became an architect after baseball and helped to create and adaptive baseball league, allowing young people with extreme mental and physical concerns to feel the joy of baseball. Arguably, that means more than accounting for 13.3 Wins Above Replacement over a career!
