Allen & Ginter World Champions - 2010 - MLB

24 packs - 8 cards per pack
'Look for Any 3 of the following inside: Autograph cards, Relic Cards, Printing Plates, Rip Cards, Cut Signatures'

I received the following:

135 unique base cards ( I am sure some of these are SP's - however, at this time I don't know which ones are SP's.) -- The base set consists of 350 cards - I received 38.6% of the base set.

This years set is in following with previous years. The cards are again printed on stiff cream colored stock. The front of the card features the player/subject of the card and the reverse has info (all written out - no numbers - i.e. three hundred four - not 304) about the player/subject. Crack the Code is back along with no number cards.

Allen & Ginter World Champions again brings 'champions' of many things to the collector. The Revolving Door... who could have lived without a revolving door or Allen Francis - national horseshoe champion, or how could we forget - Judson Laipply - the viral Dancer... This set will undoubtedly stir the imagination of many folks and even cause some to actually think about the history of our country.

Pet Peve of the set.... I have ripped 3 boxes - no Strasberg of any kind - no base rookie card, no mini, no nuttin'... bummer!!!

A&G collectors will have the thrill of the chase hunting down the illusive SP(s) to finish the base set and the brave souls who decide to put the 'master set' together complete with minis, black borders, and all of the mini inserts will certainly have their fun cut out for them.

This issue is also great for the TTM - through the mail - auto collector. These cards will be excellent for autos.

Overall Grade A- I wanted to get a Strasberg rookie.....:(

Go buy several boxes and send the black border Rays to me - and if you get an extra Strasberg - send it along as well :D .

The sps are 301 to 350.

The Strasburg in only in the mini version, #400. Do not know if there will be a a&g back, mini black, or wood version of the card. There is also a Strasburg redemption auto.

Didn't get one either.:(

Supposedly there won't be from the rumblings that I've heard. Just the mini sp and that's it. But, I could be wrong. ;)

A whole entire hobby box and only 38.6% of the base set?
-- I always dig A&G, but I don't want to have to buy 3 boxes to have a shot at getting a complete set.

Just my opinion though --- maybe if I didn't collect Masters of The Universe and GI Joe figures too then I may not balk at putting down around $300 for three boxes.

Heh, I bought three boxes and I was still about 30-50 cards or so short of a base set!

I went the short route and bought 2 hobbys and 2 retail (roughly same price total as 3 hobby). Looking at the SP's I feel it got me closer to the set than just 3 hobbys and definitely got me more minis. (Which I always do the reg set) Is it just me or are the reg minis tough to come by this year? Also does anyone know if the Strasburg is inserted in all the boxes (hobby, retail packs, & blasters)? Pulled a nice Regis Philbin Pink ties relic...lol but hey its worth $50. Info on the Stasburg is definitely appreciated.

Hi Duane,

Could I please, please get the Plato card from you?? My son is currently studying philosophy at the University of Wisconsin, and he'd really enjoy it.

Thanks,
John

Has anyone asked you for that Tyler Bradt - helmet? Strangely enough, I've got a kayaking brother who would go crazy for it.
