Received the last card I needed for my 1982 Topps set in a trade earlier this week.

That card (#435 Robin Yount) completed my Topps sets for the 1980's. I also have completed Topps sets for the 1990's and 2000's and 2010's are complete through 2012.

Next up the 70's! 1979 is already complete so I am 1/10th of the way there.

Couldn't have accomplished this without all the great members here on The Bench!

Congrats my friend. The early 70's may be tough. The 71's with those stupid black borders are tough to find in nice shape especially the high #'s and SP's. And the 1972 high #'s are expensive. Most people want over full book for the high number commons if you can even find them. The card shop in Oxford,MA has a ton of commons from the 70's so if you need some let me know the #'s and I can swing over there and pick up some for you and we can work out a trade.

Any way good luck and congrats!!

Congrats! I have been working on completing my Topps sets too. Only going back to 76 though (my birth year)... as the rest will get way too expensive for my budget!

Thanks Bryon! Yup 70-71-72 are going to be tough, but that is what makes it fun. I have my wantlists on my website, but probably going to start bringing them over to my blog when the wantlist for a particular year drops below 50. Probably also going to get very particular on condition - especially in terms of musty smelling cards.

Nice accomplishment! Congrats!

Thank you!

Amazing! How far back do you plan on going? All the way?

Thanks
Caig

Only back to 1969. And building two sets going forward from 2008 and an update set from 2008 on.

Yup, mine is a birth year project as well.

Congrats!!

Thanks!

Mine's a birth year project to 1969 as well! Best of luck to you!

Aren't you a little old to be collecting baseball cards!!!!

I am loaded with 1973 dupes and have some 69/70/71/72 that I would be willing to trade. Let me know where your wantlists are and maybe we can help each other out. Thanks.

Congrats! Nice feeling huh? Great to get something accomplished. I am working back to 70. I have lots of extras, some in really nice condition, some not so much. Maybe we can all help each other out!

Good luck with your project!

Congrats! I wish I was as far as you but I'm still stuck on 03, lol. I plan on going back as far as possible, not worrying about conditions before the 70s. Good job!
