That is amazing. The owner of the card never needed/wanted the money the card would bring. Apparently he never mentioned the card to anyone but his lawyer, or the card would alteast have been known to have existed. Thats a pretty big secret to hold since 1936. Glad to see the money will go to good use! Thanks for posting the link.

Nuns auctioning rare baseball card

Sister Virginia Muller had never heard of shortstop Honus Wagner.

But she quickly learned the baseball great is a revered figure among collectors, and the most sought-after baseball card in history. And thanks to an unexpected donation, one of the century-old cards belongs to Muller and her order, the Baltimore-based School Sisters of Notre Dame.
