I do recall seeing something similar on a comic book back in the 80's.

Actually, it's a "classic" photo from a National Lampoon issue back in the 70's. It said something like, if you don't buy our magazine we'll shoot this dog.

Its unreal , allthe adds and commercials that were done from back then to today.

I picked up and old spiderman comic (my only comic book) and saw an add for X-Ray glasses and they were looking at a female lol.

Why let it bother you? The photo is an old one, used many times over for various reasons, usually humor or sarcasm. No dogs are being harmed. If the guy had something I wanted, I would hope ALL of my competitors felt the same way and I got it for opening bid price.

Sometimes I think people are becoming TOO sensitive.

Now off to play some graphically violent video games! (Kidding here, as I don't play video games)

Because there is nothing funny about it. If you volunteered at an animal shelter or humane society, you'd probably have a different opinion. I'm glad that you can blow it off though.

I never see them on ebay but I see them all over the place with usually a cat or bunny. First time i've seen it with a dog.

I didn't say it was funny. I said it is often used in situations for humor or sarcasm, not that I thought it was funny. No, it doesn't bother me and that shouldn't be an issue to anyone that it doesn't bother me. IT'S A PICTURE!
And do you know that I haven't worked with animals or volunteered at an animal shelter just from my comment?

You appear to be the "too sensitive" I spoke of.

People have the "right" to post stuff like that but it's

DISGUSTING IN THE EXTREME !!!!!

Why doesn't a mod erase this this thread ? I understand the op is asking a question about what someone else has posted somewhere but SHOOTING A DOG IN THE HEAD is INCREDIBLY OFFENSIVE !!!

CLOSE THIS THREAD !! DELETE THIS THREAD !!

juxtapose |ˈjəkstəˌpōz; ˌjəkstəˈpōz|
verb [ trans. ]
place or deal with close together for contrasting effect : black-and-white photos of slums were starkly juxtaposed with color images.

That's all this is................Grabbing attention so the viewer will not forget the add spot anytime soon...................

I dont find this to be as extreme as stated in earlier posts but I do know that if I saw this in an auction that it would definately sway me away from buying whatever the item is. Major turn off. There are going to always be people who approach things in an innapropriate manner (whoevers item you found this on) that is just the reality of the times we are living in. I know this is a joke but I do believe something like this is not something that needs to be displayed on any sort of website especially one with an amazing reputation such as this one.

The things you'd do to win an auction for an autographed index card of Steve Garvey from 1977....

I didn't say it was funny. I said it is often used in situations for humor or sarcasm, not that I thought it was funny.

So why would you say that if you didn't think it was?

And do you know that I haven't worked with animals or volunteered at an animal shelter just from my comment?

Obviously, yes.

You appear to be the "too sensitive" I spoke of.

OK, tough guy.
