Today brought another great veteran of the game..Not Doc Brown or R&B singer Bobby Brown.... but Dr. Bobby Brown...
Dr. Bobby Brown, 86, has lived quite an extraordinary life. Most know him as former AL President during the 80s..Some know he played a bit...Well, those are both true but when you dig a little deeper, you will find some incredible accomplishments..As a player, Brown won 4 World Series with the New York Yankees('47,'49,'50,'51)..In fact he and Yogi Berra are the only surviving members of the '47 team.In those 4 WS, Brown batted a robust .439 in 17 games. After serving a year and a half in the Korean War, Brown retired following the '54 season to pursue a career in medicine(he earned his medical degree from Tulane while playing for the Yankees!)..He practiced cardiology for 30 yrs here in the DFW area before he became involved again in baseball, AL President from 84-94.
Oh yeah and also while at Stanford in college, he received a Silver Lifesaving Medal for helping rescue a Coast Guardsman, whose plane had crashed off the San Gregorio Beach..

Sorry so long but a fantastic addition..I have a great deal of admiration for this man...
Bobby Brown 5/3 signed both IC and included "4X WS Champ" on 2 cards

Thanks for reading!!
