Hi all,

I have collected baseball cards for over 30 years. I dabbled in basketball in the early 90s, but then it was only Hoops, Upper Deck and Topps. Now, I have an 8 year old that is really getting into basketball. I have no idea what is what for basketball. He does not take good care of Pokemon cards, but I would like to teach him. Is there any recommendations for starting off slow for basketball? Or should I just buy a random blaster and start there?

Thanks, Jeff

When my kids were that age, I would buy them packs of Marvel or xmen. Their interest never developed, but now my grandchild is collecting cards. I would think a blaster would be adequate for an 8 year old.

Hoops is the best entry foray into basketball. It’s licensed and all rookies are in nba team uniforms. Cheapest product with those factors.
