Wow....I read "The Card." (All of you should treat yourselves to it as well if you haven't already.) There is a kind of symmetry between baseball cards and the sport itself. There will always be the scandals and the folks who try to get ahead at the cost of others. Thankfully, the fundamental joy of collecting and of baseball will keep both strong.
 
Makes me wonder what effect this will have on the value of anything with a Mastro coa, especially the high end stuff.
 
I'm sorry to see this, but I can't say I'm surprised. Legal sharks have been swimming around him and that auction house for years.
 
Thanks for the heads-up. I like most of Olbermann's more political work, but I love when he writes about baseball.

I like the Olbermann story, as well. Kind of ironic that you have an enormously influential grading company that built it's empire on it's grade of that card...and it's a known trimmed card. I highly recommend reading "The Card" when you get a chance. Great book.
