I noticed that - Mets were definitely in a spending mood! Packing Shea with 53,000 per game and making $22 million last year puts you in a good position to do that. Now there will be high expectations in Queens!

Damn you Todd! Moore was supposed to sign here. I offered him more money w less year. Just have to advance to next plan

Oh goody Scott Moore is now in the AL East ugh. On a positive note, thanks for the draft pick for signing Maddox, Pat! :)

Also, don't forget to adjust that Player Development budget soon. I've seen a few people (including myself) complaining about drafted players taking ratings declines. I wonder if it's because we are not spending enough on development of these players? Looking through each team just now, I noticed only five teams that plan to spend over $6 million in Player Dev in 2014:

1) SF - $24 mil
2) CHW - $10 mil
3) SD - $8.5 mil
4) CIN - $8 mil
5) NYM - $6.5 mil

There are six other teams in the $5-$6 mil range and a lot that are less than $1 mil. I know it's not guaranteed to make a difference, but a couple guys like Elijah Dukes and Rafael Borges for SF have seen some pretty nice development increases over the years (going from 2/3 stars up to 5 stars). There are a couple teams that could easily put $25 million into Player Dev. this year and see what happens. If your team is already near the max. cash of $75 million and you are projected to be $30+ million below budget, there's nothing to lose, right? You can't keep the excess $$$ anyway, so might as well see what happens if you spend big in Player Dev. I would think it might take multiple years of high spending to see major talent increases, but who knows...

I don't think it matters how much money you throw into your development... It is all about winning!!

I have had my player development budget set at $500k for the last 3 season and have been in the
top 5 minor league systems for all those years.. My AA and AAA teams have been in the playoffs almost
every season since the start of BSL 2.0. I have a lot of good talent waiting to come up in the next 2-3
seasons.

Hey Cory, I heard that 1B Bolton is ready to sign for less money now to return to KC!!!!

He will be back if no one wants to give me some comp picks

Except for a reserve OF the Tigers have filled most of their needs in the FA market this year. Doesn't look like they will compete this year but might not suck as bad as usual:)
