Lost a player to a "career ender". Is there anything special I need to do to get him off my roster? Can I save any money anyway?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ron, I am not 100% sure but I think he will be on your DL til end of the year and his salary for this year has to be paid but any future years are gone. Since MLB has guaranteed contracts.
