This year hasn't been kind to me in any box breaks. My wife gave me the go ahead to get my 1st ever higher dollar box of anything for Christmas.
The box was not very good until the very last card that I saw. Although I did pull a Bubba Starling auto earlier in the box, there was no color anywhere and nothing else worth more than $5. Lightning hit when I pulled up the 2nd to last auto to see the final autos back side. It had a 1/1 stamped on it and I glanced up at the name and it was Bubba again! I had a tough time getting it into a sleeve because the house seemed to be shaking! It is the Hit of my lifetime!
So, I think I'm going to have it graded by Beckett just to make sure there are no questions on condition when I sell it. (Which will be soon). I'm not sure when the next time the Beckett office is open but I'll be there that day.
Other autos:
Prospects:
Aaron Hicks
Bubba Starling :D
Collin Cowhill
James Harris
Javier Baez :)
Jed Bradley
Kyle Crick
Matt Barnes

Rookies:
Anthony Rizzio :)
Kyle Seager
Rubby De La Rosa :)

Here it is!!

Wow! The Lindor just sold for $550, Red 1/1 Panik for $825, Red 1/1 Lindor for $572. I'd say thats about a $1000+ card ya got there! Congrats!

Thanks guys. I'm thinking it might get $1,000 too!
Might as well ask: Should I really have it graded? Beckett is only 20 minutes from my house.

What a Christmas!

I was thinking you should seriously consider getting it graded. You get it graded, you just spent a small fee to possibly double+ your $1K!

WOW!!!!! That makes up for all the duds on the year! If the card has a good chance to gem, you NEED to get it graded. I suggest the same day turnaround since you're in the area. If you sell it bin/bo, I can see you getting close to $2000 raw and maybe more if Gem Mint. I suggest to not try to get $1000 because you will be leaving money on the table. And be sure protect yourself when you ship it. Congrats on the HUGE pull!

Wow, nice hit! It's a 1/1, and the original purpose of grading was to narrow down the population of overproduced cards (ie. separating the nicer ones from the rest). Since it is the only one, grading it makes no difference. If anything, you may knock a little value off of it sicne a potential buyer may not be into graded cards. A buyer can always have it graded if they choose.

Awesome card, you should easily pull a grand. CONGRATS!

definitely get it graded. even though its a 1/1 and theres no other of them, the condition of a graded card can not be disputed, whereas the person receiving the raw card could say it got damaged in the mail. plus you're close so you wouldnt have to mail it at all

Yeah, go get it graded! A few bucks, I know, but a high dollar card should probably be graded. I think most people would appreciate it. Merry Christmas and congrats!!

Thanks for the input guys! I'll get it graded for the added protection from some buyers. I'll do same day with maybe a BGS 9.0 condition or better. Or, 9.5 or better.

Sounds like a great pull. I haven't the slightest idea who Bubba Starling is, but if his name or nickname is Bubba, you can almost count on him not doing anything worthwhile in his baseball career. Sell while the selling is good if history has anything to say about how Bubba will fare.

Bubba Smith made that name cool and it generally seems to work for football players, but nobody has been able to hold a candle in the baseball arena.

Might want to check into grading criteria for that issue. Looks like the sticker has a mark on the right side across from the 'd' in certified, and the sticker placement itself seems to be crooked, covering part of the 'Topps Certified' and ending underneath 'autograph issue'

Yeh, it does look like the sticker is a bit crooked and the card might be a bit off center, so I may just do the minimum grade of 9.0 or don't grade it at all option.

Can't you call customer service for Beckett and asked them....if the sticker is off center..will you down grade the card? I don't think that would down grade the card for the sticker being a little bit crooked....I've seen cards were the auto/sticker is upside down! Good Luck on which ever way you decide to go (grade or not to grade)! Happy Holidays, David
