Did you collect any players from your favorite team, even if they never panned out?

for awile there i was trading for Jamarcus russell cards all the time and still trade for them if the deal is right

I wouldn't collect nobody players as a player type collection, but for team sets, I would pick up scrubs. I have been doing that recently with some of the 50s-60s Dodger cards I didn't already have.

I collect Casey Kotchman, he was a hot prospect for the Angels (my favorite non-Chicago team) around the time they won the WS in '02. I still collect him even though he is mainly a bench guy and not with the Angels anymore.

I go after plenty of failed A's prospects, including the aforementioned Todd Van Poppel. I don't have any interest in stockpiling 50 of their RCs, though...just one of each, thanks. I would think any big fan of a team would have followed all prospects and feel some attachment even to the failed ones.

I like picking up cards of Shelton when I can find them in dime boxes at card shows. One of my cards of him is a '04 Playoff Honors RC /1999, I can't help but wonder what people were paying for that card when he was big for that April of '05 or '06 (can't remember the specific year).
