I won an auction on April 5th and paid immediately. After one week I contacted the seller asking for an update and never heard anything. On day eight (April 13th) I got an email from ebay saying that a DC number for my card had just been submitted. Today I finally get my card and I look at the Paypal postage label...it was not printed until the 19th. So, it took 14 days to package my card and send it out? Now the kicker is that the seller included a little business card telling me to leave positive feedback and 5 star ratings ONLY. They say to contact them if there was something in their service that prevents me from giving them 5 stars.

Anyway, I'm thinking a neutral with low stars on shipping time and communication. What say you?

Contact them..Sometimes they might send you a little something extra to make up for there time to shiip

I say you contact him since the delayed shipping prevents you from giving all five stars, see what he/she says, then leave appropriate feedback (i.e. lower than five for delivery time, and the appropriate number of stars for the other categories).

Do what you think is proper..................That's not the way I like to get cards on eBay.........................It's like the little business card is a way of kicking sand in your face.......................

Hey Tim
Tell you what give him what ever rating you want too. That is your privialge and right to do so according to ebay. what right does that seller have to tell you what kind of rating to give him? He didnt live up to his end o the deal . Just my 2cents worth

Not that it would make a difference, but is this a big company or a little guy selling? Thanks!

Thanks for all the responses guys. I thought the business card was kind of pretentious, but maybe that's just me. Not the card itself but what it said.

Seems to be a business. They have a Twitter account and a website/blog.

I would contact them about the shipping time and the lack of communication to see what they have to say but still leave the appropriate feedback and rating. They shouldn't be allowed to dictate what rating you give them. I had an ebay experience like this before and I have dinged the ratings if I felt it was the correct thing to do.

Im sure they'd refund shipping charges to avoid the nuetral, you can ask for shipping refund. You cant use the feedback as extortion, but any smart ebayer, knows if he dosen't make you happy he is risking a low feedback.

I'm not out to extort anyone, I was just responded to the way the seller handled the transaction. I don't want my money back, I'll just leave a neutral and move on.

i think leaving a neutral is more then fair. most people would leave a negative. as a seller i try to get all sales out within 3 days and if something comes up that i cant i contact the buyer immediatly and let them know the situation and when i expect the card to be out.

Contact the seller and ding stars. If they do not respond appropriately then a neutral or a negative is a must. There has to be some way to warn future buyers about the problems with said seller. I for one had a problem with a recent seller where I had order an item, sent 3 messages, and still no contact or card received. Filed a claim. Regardless of how the seller reacts at this point, they will be getting a negative

I agree with this. Also, I wouldn't waste my time contacting them either. The nerve of people.

14 days to ship AND ignoring email ? Sounds like a neg and star didnging time, no questions asked, no more contact required. If a seller isn't willing to spend the time and energy on the most basic customer care I'm certainly not going to waste any time or energy either.

If they show some contrition and maybe offer some sort of compensation you can have the comment removed. If they get nasty you can report it to ebay.

I've had it go both ways.
