Why do people charge for shipping on $100 cards? Seriously.

I saw a $525 card, and shipping is $5.00. Really? Why?

cover some ebay fees, though $525 card would have $52.50 in closing costs, plus paypal fees

Where is the magic line? Shipping a $525 card first class insured costs $10.10 to ship from St Paul, MN to St Louis, MO. That means he's already picking up over half the tab to get it to you, much less what it takes to list the card, sell the card, and pay the paypal fees. Do you routinely knock 10-35% off the profits at your work?

Exactly what I was going to say. I normally slap a $4 flat rate shipping rate on my stuff, then add $1 for anything else added to a combined order. Under normal circumstances the most I'll charge is $5 for shipping.

I agree with the op. Shipping should be free !

And while we're at it, listing on ebay should be free, and when something sells there should be no charge (FREE), and using paypal should be free. In fact, if someone is trying to sell a card and I want it, it should be free ! I mean wtheck, they're trying to get rid of it and I want it.

Shipping is not free. And if a card goes for big $ then the seller should send insured. Ebay clips sellers with final value fee and then clips then again through paypal. Why shouldn't a seller cover their shipping costs?
