That patch looks very rookie fake at that...I'm gonna check beckett site and see what it shows.

not listed on beckett!

looks really fake to me! especially since it is not listed on beckett and the patch looks drawn or photoshop'd!

There was a few like that on recently---highly suspicious because of the serial # and because it states "game worn jersey"

Yeah I agree with all of you. I just got back from my local shop and the dude there gave me a Ripken Patch. Fake that is. At least we think so. I will post a pic up here of it in a bit.

First off it is a '99 Topps card. The patch looks like it came from the band of a jock strap!! It looks legit and is a pretty good fake. So the story goes, he picked up from a guy in a collection he bought. The dude said he got it a a show and that the dude who sold it to him said he got it directly from Topps. He tried to redeem something and it never came so Topps sent him the Ripken.

My card shop buddy didn't really pay attention that well since he bought a whole collection. But he said on the back of the card was a sticker that was coming off with what looked like a hand written note. But since it was peeling off and he assumed it was just something like a price tag like you would see at a show he threw it away with out reading it. So who knows what it says.

I will post it up later but let me know what you guys think.

Matt

the high serial number is a big giveaway...and the fact that the patch is not really "random" (its perfectly centered, a prime cut, and says Ripken). whoever made that fake wasted a really cool Ripken jersey card
